For Gyms
The trial session is the conversion. Is anyone reporting it?
A gym does not sell articles. It books trial sessions, and some of them turn into members (days later, at the counter). That is exactly where browser tracking loses the trail: the booking runs through a form or a booking system, the sign-up happens offline.
Where it breaks today
-
The form reports, the studio does not
The trial booking may still be counted. That it turned into a membership never reaches Google Ads, so it optimises for bookings instead of members.
-
Booking systems sit in an iframe
Many booking tools run embedded. The pixel on the page does not see what happens inside them.
-
Whoever books on a phone has an ad blocker
The audience is young and mobile. A sizeable share blocks trackers, and books anyway.
What Trackdolphin does there
-
Appointments as an event of their own
Trackdolphin knows “appointment booked” as an event: at Meta it becomes Schedule, at Google Ads a conversion. It is reported by the server, not by the form.
-
The sign-up days later is added afterwards
If the trial session turns into a membership, your system reports it afterwards through the API, with the same identifier. Google Ads sees the whole path, not just the first step.
-
Several locations, one account
Every studio is a project of its own with its own numbers; the chain sees everything in one overview. The watchdog reports when nothing arrives from a location any more.
How to get there
SDK for the website, API for the studio system
There is no plugin for gyms: there is no single shop system. Instead: the SDK on the website for bookings, the HTTP API from your membership system for sign-ups. We built this for Prime Time Fitness and LUXFIT and know where it snags.
